I might buy thiscar tomorrow and I just want to make sure it doesn’t have some kind of terrible history. The ad is for $2900, andthis seemsalmost too good VIN: 1FAHP31N97W348886

It came back as a manual 2007 Ford Focus hatch with 134,964 miles and was listed as a comprehensive loss on 2016-0-18.

A quick Google search of the VIN turned up this: http://www.copart.com/us/en/Lot/1636…

Hard to say from the photos, but that definitely does point to a terrible history.

for future use: carfaxes are easier to run if the car has plates. I have the premium account until may, and I think -because i’ve let relatives use my account- I have 2 carfax reports I can run off the vin number.

send more carfax reports our way though! I already purchased my used car, and it feels like i’m just wasting money not running carfax reports

This helps a lot. I am still going to go look at it though, but I will keep it in mind.
